Executive Club Meets at Preston Grasshoppers
The 3rd Mentor Executive Club meeting of Series 11 was hosted at Preston Grasshoppers RFC on 5th December. Executive Club member host and rugby fanatic Iain Crosley, MD, Hosokawa Micron, organised 4 guest speakers, breakfast, Xmas lunch, and entry to the Grasshoppers match vs Leicester Lions. Unfortunately, Iain was unable to organise good weather – the rugby 1st team match was cancelled due to a dangerous, waterlogged pitch but this didn’t dampen the enthusiasm and enjoyment of Executive Club Members. ‘It was good to be together again with like minded people – very stimulating!’ was a typical comment. The day was a triumph for Iain’s attention to detail, commitment, and organisational skills. Thank you and well done Iain Crosley and Hoppers!
Guest speakers were:
John Chesworth, MD, Harrison Drury Solicitors. John has grown Harrison Drury from a small Preston office of 10 people to a multiple-branch organisation of over 70 people in just 6 1/2 years and his presentation topic was ‘Attracting and Retaining Top Talent to Your business’ including ‘becoming the employer of choice’ and ‘managing your talent pool’.
Michael Lough, MD of Blue Wren and Elaine Brooks, Director, BC Marketing Ltd, who combined their presentation on ‘An Extra Marketing Dimension’…. how to integrate digital marketing into existing marketing initiatives, showing that traditional marketing media CAN integrate with new age digital.
Tim Haley, MD, Haley Business Advisers, who spoke on ‘Profit Improvement Potential’…. a model for major impact on bottom line results. This was a powerful reminder that making small adjustments to our business focus/activities can produce remarkable results.
‘A stimulating and enjoyable meeting’, ‘I nearly didn’t come, but I’m really glad I did’, ‘the meeting really stoked up my enthusiasm’ were some of the comments from Executive Club members.
